Kelly’s Success with Younger Generation

Kelly Jean Dammeyer, our Nutritionist and Wellness Director, has had great success working with teens by supporting them to transform their health and to feel more personally confident and empowered.
Below is a very meaningful testimonial from a young member here at Fitness Elite. If you are not yet a member of Fitness Elite for Women, do not hesitate, Kelly works with everyone!

“I’m Shea; I am 15 years old. I recently moved back here from Texas. When I first came to Kelly I struggled with a lot of the same things most teenagers do. I had poor body image and self-esteem. With a history of obesity in the family I knew I had to do something. My parents recommended working with a trainer. I agreed to it and we came to Kelly. I told her how I felt, what I was going through and just about anything else I could think of. I told her how one of my best friends is a tall, thin, athletic model and another is an incredible swimmer and the third a great volleyball player. Yes the media affected my view of myself; I would be lying if I said it didn’t. But the fact I had friends like that too also led me to think I wasn’t good enough. Kelly helped me find confidence and a new happiness I hadn’t felt in a while since the move. She helped me with problems and was there with great advice. She helped me change my life for the better. When I first came to her I had knee and sometimes hip problems where I would have to wear a knee brace, since then I’m still trying to find a way to get rid of the brace because I no longer need it. She’s helped me find ways to exercise effectively for being 15 years old; I’m not a body builder so I don’t need to work out like one. In the few months I’ve been with her she’s helped me so much not only with advice or exercise but she’s helped me better find out who I am as a person. I appreciate that. My friends I previously mentioned are some of my biggest supporters and have told me how glad they are that Kelly can help me and that I’m doing this. I could really go on forever about all she’s done for me but it’d be a novel. I guess my point is, no matter what it can be done. You can never stop improving and my journey is not done yet. A quote I like by Martin Luther King Jr. is “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the full staircase.” So if I can do it, so can you!”
